United States: The Immigration Bill

House of Democrats on Wednesday 2 October 2013 unveiled an immigration bill that provides a path to citizenship for million illegal immigrants living in US, while tightening border security. They warned the political fallout if the Republicans declined to vote. The bill includes elements of a bill the Senate passed in summer with border security legislation that won unanimous support of Security Committee in last May. In sum, Republicans have rejected the comprehensive approach, which opened questions to immigration laws.
